Segovia
Segovia Prison has dedicated four prison cells to collecting and remembering the names of Segovia’s retaliates and deportees. They are four cells that are open for the first time to the public where you can know the history of the building and of those who were locked up by their political ideas during the civil war and Franco’s regime, in this prison or in others. In one of them you can see an introductory video explaining the history of La Cárcel and the historical context. In another, you can consult some explanatory panels. A third cell is different in that it shows an artistic interpretation of a poem written by Marcos Ana, the political prisoner poet who was locked up for the longest time for his anti-Franco ideas, 23 years old. The fourth cell is a tribute to the Segovians and Segovians imprisoned during the civil war and the Franco regime for their political ideas.
