In her speech, she reminded the jurists Victoria Kent, Clara Campoamor, Julia Álvarez and María Lluïsa Algarra, representing many other anonymous and unknown women who were forced into exile during the Civil War, she asked to keep her memory alive and to rescue her role "in the construction of our society and our democracy".

Delgado also recalled Neus Catalá, a recently deceased anti-fascist fighter, to point to so many women “who populate the unwritten pages of history.” Women of diverse profiles, such as politicians, health workers, teachers, journalists, writers, scientists and housewives, who saw their lives threatened and went into exile, which led them "to uprooting, discouragement and the feeling of failure."

Victoria Kent was the first general director of Penitentiary Institutions of the Republic and a member of the Constituent Courts, as was Clara Campoamor, an active suffragette. Julia Álvarez was, in addition to being a deputy, the first civil governor of Spain and the first magistrate. María Lluïsa Algarra was also the first judge when she was barely 20 years old. The minister stressed that these four women were the forerunners in the performance of positions traditionally assigned to men and "faced patriarchal society with the objective of restoring to women the protagonism that had usurped them."

Dolores Delgado recalled that one of the first repressive measures of the Franco regime against them was its suspension in the practice of law. His struggle and testimony was not, however, in vain, because history has shown "that his goal was the dignity, equality and freedom of women, and also of humanity," he stressed.

Organized by the Ministry of Justice, the Interministerial Commission for the Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Spanish Republican Exile and the Cervantes Institute, the congress will continue until this Friday unrolling different parallel activities, among them, the exhibition "Steps without land".
