The Guide narrates, through different blocks, the tragedy of exile. Thus, the first of them "Archivists and Librarians Exiled", is dedicated to highlight the figure of some of the members of the Optional Corps of Archivists, Librarians and Archaeologists, who defended the historical heritage during the Second Republic and the Civil War, and who exiled themselves after the contest. The second block bears witness to the main refugee ships that took the exiles and their families to those countries that offered them help. In the third, some of the humanitarian aid agencies that created the government of the Second Republic and that allowed to organize the exodus of the Spaniards, after the fall of Catalonia, in early 1939, are presented. The work of these agencies could only be carried out thanks to the necessary cooperation of Ibero-American politicians, diplomats and writers such as Lázaro Cárdenas, Narciso Bassols or Pablo Neruda, among others.
