The National Police in Irún have arrested two men as alleged perpetrators of a public health crime, trafficking drugs from a flat in the centre of the town.
The investigation began in the middle of last year, when investigators of the Local Judicial Police Brigade detected, supported by agents of the Local Police of Irun, a drug sale point in the area after seizing on the public highway several drug addicts who had just acquired narcotic substances in a nearby house.
After accurately locating the floor where the drug was marketed, identifying the perpetrators and collecting the necessary evidence and indications, on June 6, an entry and registration device was established composed of several special units of the National Police, such as the Bilbao Dog Guides, which participated with a dog trained in the location of drugs or the VI Police Intervention Unit (UIP).
In the aforementioned registry, the agents managed to find hidden in the house, and seize: 170 gr. of hashish distributed in various envelopes, several small bags with 16 gr, of cocaine, useful and effects for the storage, manipulation, weighing and preparation of drug doses. They also located and intervened 32 mobile phones that served the suspects to try to circumvent the investigators in their communications with suppliers or buyers, numerous white weapons, including a golf club and a baseball bat, 21,000 euros in cash and numerous jewels.
In the same act, the two suspects, who turned out to be father and son with no known work activity, were also arrested and placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court of Irún.
This operation has dismantled a drug distribution point in the Iraqi town that was generating a great social alarm in the neighborhood, as expressed by several citizens to the agents acting.
