During the last months of July and August, civil guards of the Fiscal and Border Patrols of the Biscay Command, have managed to investigate 11 people for crimes against public health in drug trafficking by receiving shipments containing buds of marijuana and/or cannabidiol (CBD), intervening a total of 6.5 kilos.
The Civil Guard of Bizkaia, within its functions in matters of State Fiscal Protection, regularly carries out risk analysis in shipments of parcel companies in order to prevent smuggling and other illicit traffic.
The agents discovered during these tax services eleven shipments containing a green vegetable substance (marijuana) and/or CBD, from third countries and other autonomous communities.
The civil guards, after the discovery of the merchandise of each of the shipments, requested the judicial authority to carry out the relevant controlled deliveries in order to identify the recipients, attributing them a crime against public health in terms of drug trafficking.
The buds, for the most part, were sent in heat-sealed bags, highlighting one of the shipments that contained 1.5 kilos, distributed in three packages of 500 grams each. Two of the eleven people investigated are repeat offenders because they have been recipients of several shipments.
The operations, which remain open, are being investigated by the Fiscal and Border Patrols of the Biscay Command and followed by the Guard Courts of the affected localities of the province.
