- A European Arrest and Surrender Order (OEDE) for crimes against public order and state security, theft, robbery with force and robbery with violence weighed on him
- In addition, I already had several records in Spain for crimes against heritage
The National Police in Bilbao has arrested a man who had a European Arrest and Surrender Order (OEDE) in force by the Romanian judicial authorities.
The arrest took place on May 3 at the Gran Vía in Bilbao, after investigators from the Judicial Police Brigade established a device for their search and location.
After verifying in situ that this was the person sought in court, he was transferred to the Superior Police Headquarters in Gordóniz Street, where the mechanism of international cooperation for cases of "fugitives" was activated.
Thus, in a few minutes and thanks to the participation of the Group of Fugitives of the General Commissariat of Judicial Police, the agents of Bilbao were able to have the police card and fingerprints of this defendant, which facilitated his full identification.
In this regard, it could be confirmed that the detainee was wanted in Romania for crimes against public order and state security, theft, robberies with force and robberies with violence. In addition, it was also found that he already had a record in Spain for crimes against property.
For all these reasons, he was transferred to the Central Court of Investigation of the Guard of the National High Court, in Madrid, from where he was extradited to Romania.
