- One of the detainees, who had more than 10,000 paedophile files in his possession, shared videos and photos of minors through "Facebook", "Messenger", "Vider", "Telefram" and "WhatsApp"
- Another was involved with ten hard drives and eight micro SD memory cards of this type that were downloaded in programs like "Emule" and "Utorrent"
The National Police in Bilbao has completed in recent months four operations against the possession and distribution of pornographic material in which minors and disabled persons have been used in need of special protection, resulting in the arrest of four men who are accused of crimes of corruption of minors.
The investigations began when the agents of the Bilbao Organized Crime Group and the Central Cybercrime Unit learned that, through computer means, homes in Bizkaia were downloading and sharing computer files with paedophile content.
In this sense, the first operation was carried out in Bilbao in December, and after the entry and registration in the home of the suspect and his subsequent detention, three mobile phones and a micro SD card with more than 10,000 video files and images with paedophile content were intervened, some of them with young children, which he shared through social networks such as "Facebook", "Messenger", "Viber", "Tlegram" and "WhatsApp"
The second of the interventions took place in Balmaseda in January, and after the arrest of the investigator, a house search was carried out, where the researchers found ten hard drives and eight micro SD memory cards, verifying that he downloaded the pornographic files through programs such as "Emule" and "Outorrent".
The third operation was carried out in Bilbao in February and, like the previous ones, after the arrest of the investigator and the search at his home, he was seized a hard drive with two hundred paedophile files
Finally, the last intervention was made this April in Erandio, ending with the arrest of a man and the verification that he was in possession of more than 250 video files, of clear paedophile content, that he had downloaded and shared through programs such as "Emule" and "Utorren", so two laptops and a micro SD memory card were intervened.
For all these reasons, both the detainees and the computer devices were placed at the disposal of the corresponding on-call courts, all of which are currently at liberty pending the corresponding trial.
