The National Police has arrested the board of directors, composed of the president and secretary, of a cannabis association in Irun for alleged crimes of illicit association and against public health.
The investigations began last summer, when researchers detected that the association was visited not only by its partners, but by third parties who went there to acquire narcotic substances.
During the investigation, the agents intercepted 12 people who, without being partners, had acquired marijuana or hashish in the premises to subsequently consume the drug in another location and with outsiders.
The findings made it possible to determine that those responsible for the cannabis association could be committing a crime of illicit association and another one against public health, since despite the fact that this group was constituted and registered in a legal way, its operation did not fit the purpose they advocate, such as shared consumption among addicts to these substances, by promoting, promoting and facilitating the illegal consumption of toxic drugs or narcotics among people not linked to the group.
For all these reasons, on December 28, 2022, agents of the National Police in Irun proceeded to arrest the two investigated and to carry out an entry and registration at the headquarters of this association, seizing more than one kilo of marijuana buds ready for consumption, more than 300 grams of hashish and a hydraulic press that served for the elaboration of hashish.
