In its fourth edition, the Young Cultural Voucher, an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Culture, has been requested in Navarre by 5,698 young people who turn 18 in 2025. This represents 74.97% of the total number of young people of this age, which, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics, is 7,600.
In the total of the State, the Young Cultural Voucher has been requested by 366,443 young people who reach the age of 18 in 2025, distributed throughout the Spanish territory. These are two out of three young people born in 2007, namely 68.5% of the estimated population of that age, a total of 534,809 people, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics.
The figure exceeds by 27,835 the total number of beneficiaries of the previous edition, which amounted to 338,608. In these four editions the number of young beneficiaries of the program reaches a total of 1,309,059.
After being registered and signed, each of these applications is reviewed and subjected to the process of individualized control of subsidies of the General Administration of the State, so that the final number of beneficiaries could suffer some variation.
The public company Correos, the entity in charge of the banking support of the Young Cultural Bonus, has already started sending the virtual and physical cards to the young beneficiaries.
About the Young Cultural Bonus
The Young Cultural Bonus works with a prepaid card that the beneficiary can have virtually on his mobile or receive physically at home. With this card, once activated, young people have one year and more than 3,800 establishments adhered throughout Spain to be able to use the 400 euros allocated in experiences and cultural products, with the following distribution:
· 100 euros for physical products, for example, books, press or records.
· 100 euros for digital products, such as platform subscriptions, digital press, podcast or online video games.
· 200 euros for performing arts: theatre, opera, cinema, dance, museums...
The objective of the Ministry of Culture with this initiative has a double meaning: on the one hand, it shows the interest of a wide spectrum of the young Spanish population for culture, which this initiative helps to build loyalty as a public and cultural consumer for the future; and, on the other hand, it offers additional support to the cultural sector.
The Young Cultural Bonus is regulated by the Royal Decree, with indefinite validity, which the Council of Ministers approved on March 21, 2023, at the proposal of the Minister of Culture. It has an endowment of 170 million euros in the General State Budgets extended. In 2022, the first year of validity of this initiative, a total of 277,594 people obtained the Young Cultural Bonus throughout Spain; in 2023, the figure amounted to 326,579 and in 2024 there were 338,443 beneficiaries.
News for 2026
The Ministry of Culture is studying an expansion in the uses of the Young Cultural Voucher to include cultural and artistic creation and training, for the next edition in 2026.
This extension would allow the use of the amount of the Bonus in the acquisition of musical instruments and material for artistic creation, as well as for the payment of workshops and courses of a cultural and artistic nature, both face-to-face and online.
