The Government of Spain, through the Sectoral Conference on Agriculture and Rural Development, has approved to allocate more than 850,000 euros to Navarre for 12 wine promotion programs in third country markets by 2026.
With an overall budget of 55.59 million euros for the promotion, the applications finally submitted by the autonomous communities amount to a total of 46.8 million euros. Therefore, Minister Luis Planas has proposed to the regional councillors and councillors of the branch to raise the subsidy to the maximum 50% allowed for the 657 programs presented by the autonomies, which have shown their agreement with the ministerial proposal.
This line of promotion of Spanish wines in third-country markets is included in the Wine Sector Intervention (ISV), within the framework of the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy 2023-2027 and under the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF) to be implemented in 2026.
Luis Planas has explained the benefits of this type of programs that aim to expand the characteristics and qualities of Spanish wines in third countries in order to improve their competitiveness and consolidate new markets.
