The Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, has addressed a letter to Matthias Metz, CEO of BSH, following the announcement, by the German group, of the next cessation of activity at its plant in Esquíroz (Navarre).
In its letter, Hereu states that, since the Government learned of the news, it is monitoring the situation together with the regional executive, to study the alternatives that allow the maintenance of industrial activity and employment.
In this regard, Hereu requests the company that manufactures household appliances to designate an interlocutor to analyze the possibility of reversing the decision or, where appropriate, to propose possible options that allow us to safeguard industrial capacities in our country.
Likewise, the minister recalls the commitment of the Government of Spain to the protection of the productive fabric and reindustrialization, particularly in a territory with great industrial weight such as Navarre.
Finally, the minister hopes that, through the work of all the actors involved, a favourable solution to this situation can be found.
