The municipalities of the Foral Community will be distributed a total of 796,962.51 euros from the Government of Spain from the State Pact against Gender Violence for the 2024/2025 campaign. The payment is made, as usual, to the municipalities themselves without the need for a prior request. The total amount for all the municipalities of the country amounts to 40 million euros as detailed in the Resolution of July 11, 2024, of the Secretary of State for Equality and for the Eradication of Violence against Women.
The money is distributed among the local entities according to their number of inhabitants with data of the register as of January 1, 2024. From there, the remainder that remains after this distribution is distributed among all the municipalities incorporated to VioGén (Comprehensive Monitoring System in Cases of Gender Violence) and among those localities that have registered victims users of ATENPRO (Telephone Service of Attention and Protection to Victims of Gender Violence) as of August 1, 2023.
The funds will be used to carry out projects or programmes aimed at implementing the measures provided for in the State Pact.
Activities such as: awareness-raising campaigns and prevention of any form of violence against women and the production of information and dissemination materials; the promotion of cooperation and coordination instruments to improve the institutional response at the local level; the establishment of violet points to inform citizens about how to respond to a case of violence against women; the strengthening of municipal services for the care and information of victims; or the specialized and continuous training of local professionals in the prevention of all forms of violence against women.
The term of execution of these activities covers the period from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.
