The Navarre International Vaccination Center (CVI), located at the headquarters of the Government Delegation, served 5,957 people last year, 39.1 percent more than in 2022 (4,284), and received a total of 4,603 calls, 12.6 percent more than in the previous year (4,089). In addition, and as a novelty, last year information was offered through email to a total of 565 people. The figures for 2023 are still far from the data prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, since in 2019 there were 7,326 people attended and 5,932, the calls received.
Last year, 2,123 vaccines were administered, mostly for yellow fever, followed by poliomyelitis. In addition, 8,578 other vaccines were recommended and 2,009 malaria prophylaxis were provided. In 2022, 1,872 vaccines were administered and another 6,798 were recommended, as well as 1,710 antimalarial prophylaxis.
The main destinations of the people who last year passed through the International Vaccination Center were the countries of Southeast Asia - Thailand in particular - and Colombia.
From the CVI it is recommended that citizens plan sufficiently in advance the vaccines necessary to travel to certain countries. Therefore, they advise to anticipate consultations and appointments whenever possible since, when the summer months arrive, the demand multiplies.
As explained by the International Vaccination Center, the ideal is to request the appointment sufficiently in advance to be able to be attended in consultation at least one month before the trip. In addition, it is advisable that, prior to the consultation, the vaccination schedule is updated and a record of it is provided, where appropriate, which will be provided by the user's health center.
La cita previa se solicita de manera telemática, a través de la website of the Ministry of Health. For any questions, you can call the phone 948 979 310.
