The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has granted grants to the Foral Community of Navarre, for a total amount of 1,118,137.9 euros, for the development of the following actions contemplated in the General Budgets of 2023:
- Completion of the Irurtzun-Agurain cycle track project (1 million euros).
- Drafting of the project for the second and third phase of the NA-4410 variant (100,000 euros).
- Drafting of the project of the Bera variant on the NA-121 road (18,137.90 euros).
These grants are in addition to others granted to the Foral Community of Navarre in 2023 for the continuation of previously initiated projects (improvement actions on the N-121-A road and the drafting and implementation of the NA-400 Variant project in Lesaka) amounting to 18,750,000 euros.
Thus, through the General Budgets of the State of 2023, the Foral Community of Navarre has been financed with a total of 20 million euros for the development of different actions in the field of roads.
Cycling track Irurtzun-Agurain
The Foral Community of Navarre has received a direct grant of one million euros, from the General State Budgets for 2023, to complete the implementation of the Irurtzun-Agurain cycling track project.
The Irurtzun-Agurain cycle path project includes the construction of a cycle path running between Irurtzun in Navarre and Agurain in Araba. Specifically, the object of this grant is the Navarre section of the Sakana Region, between Irurtzun-Ziordia. For this, new vials will be built. Existing itineraries will be adapted and improved, including aspects such as improvement of firmness, drainage and signaling of the route for cycling.
This action is part of the Master Plan of Active Mobility of Navarre 2022-2030, is part of the arterial network of the plan that covers the whole territory of the Foral Community of Navarre and connects its main populations to each other or these with its neighboring territories of other Autonomous Communities or France, including some cross-border routes of suprarregional interest, such as the Camino de Santiago itself or the EuroVelo routes 1 and 3. Therefore, the performance shares the vision and complies with the design parameters of the Eurovelo network, linking directly with the Eurovelo 1 in Irurtzun.
Second and third phase of variant NA-4410
The purpose of this direct grant to the Autonomous Community of Navarre is to finance the drafting of the project of the second and third phase of the NA-4410 variant. The amount of the subsidy, charged to the General State Budgets for the year 2023, is 100,000 euros.
With the drafting of the project of the second and third phase of the variant NA-4410 in the municipality of Bera (Navarra), it is intended to give an alternative to the traffic that runs through the urban center.
The second phase, which is the subject of the project financed by this grant, continues the first phase, which connects the Eztegara promenade with Matzada Street, linking in Matzada with the NA4410 towards France, by Sara. In this way, all international traffic that goes there to and especially that which goes to the commercial border area of Dantxarinea, between Urdazubi and Ainhoa, is avoided.
The route of the third phase constitutes the end of the variant, which links the NA4410 with the NA1310 towards France, by Ibardin, preventing international traffic to Ibardin from crossing the square of the historic district of Altzate.
Bera variant on road NA-121
The Autonomous Community of Navarre has received, also from the General Budgets of the State for the year 2023, a nominative grant for the drafting of the project of the variant of the NA-121 road in Bera (Navarre) in the amount of 18,137.90 euros.
This action, which aims to provide an alternative to the traffic that runs through the urban center of the municipality, has been divided into three phases, being the drafting of the project of the first phase, "Project of execution of the urban connection of Matzada Street with the Eztegara Promenade in Bera (Navarra)", the object of this grant. This project defines the works of urban, pedestrian and road connection between the Eztegara promenade and Matzada street.
The drafting of this project was fully funded in July 2022 by the City of Bera, assuming an amount of 18,137.90 euros, less than the amount of 885,000 euros initially allocated in the General Budgets of the State for the year 2023. Because of this, this grant resolution is awarded for the actual amount of the project writing.
