The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has granted a grant to the Government of Navarre of 3.75 million euros for the drafting and implementation of the NA-4000 road variant project, which is part of the regional network of the Foral Community, as it passes through the municipality of Lesaka.
The implementation of this population variant is necessary to complete the plan of reform of the center of Lesaka, a model of city and mobility that prioritizes pedestrians, ensuring the accessibility of the entire population and especially taking into account the most vulnerable groups.
The diversion of traffic from the center of the town would be the culmination of the mobility plan developed by the City Council in the urban center, which involves eliminating architectural barriers, leveling pavements and roads and creating areas designed for pedestrians and for the use of bicycles.
The collaboration of the Ministry in this project began in 2022. Since then and adding this grant for 2023, the Ministry has paid 4.25 million euros to date for this.
