In Navarra 3 production companies will receive a total of € 2,228,760 for their participation in other projects carried out in collaboration with production companies based in other autonomous communities, after the resolution of this second procedure of general aid for the production of feature films on the 2023 project.
Specifically, the benefiting Navarran producers are Trianera Producciones Cinematográficas for their participation in ‘La Buena Fortuna’, Mis Niños Valen Oro for the production of the same name and Guerrero Maxwell for their participation in ‘Gar me lo quiero’.
The Ministry of Culture, through the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), has resolved the second general support procedure for the production of feature films on the 2023 project in the amount of 31,988,000 euros. Of this budget allocation, 4 million correspond to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) and 27,988,000 euros are charged to the available credit of the Film Protection Fund of the ICAA.
The total budget allocation for the call for 2023 is 62 million euros, resolved in two procedures, which means an increase of 6 million euros compared to 2022.
Beneficiaries
Altogether, 71 projects have applied for grants. Of these, 51 are applications made during the term of the second proceeding and 20 have been incorporated as alternates of the first proceeding.
Finally, 27 projects have benefited from this second phase, of which 25 correspond to the fiction category for an amount of 29,398,000 euros, that is, 91.90% of the total amount awarded; and the remaining two correspond to the animation category for an amount of 2,590,000 euros. Of these 27 beneficiary projects, 9 are international co-productions.
Regarding the EUR 4 million of the budget for the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, it should be noted that 4 SMEs producing 4 projects exclusively directed by women and 6 SMEs producing 2 animation projects have benefited. In this way, this second procedure contributes 10% to the achievement of the IDC objective of supporting 100 SMEs.
Female presence
With regard to the presence of women, 13 of the 15 projects exclusively directed by women who have applied for assistance in this second procedure have been beneficiaries, with a total amount of 14,998,000 euros; that is, 46.89% of the total budget allocation. In addition, 10 of the 16 projects submitted exclusively by women are beneficiaries, which represents 37.07% of the total number of projects to which aid has been granted.
In addition, of the 12 applicant projects in which the direction and script are women, 10 have been selected. With regard to executive production, out of a total of 63 projects with women exclusively in this position, 23 have benefited. Finally, 23 of the selected projects have a technical team with at least 40% female presence.
