The municipalities of the Foral Community of Navarre will receive, in the year 2023, a total of 809,659.14 euros from the Government of Spain from the State Pact against Gender Violence. The payment will be made directly to the municipalities themselves without the need for a prior request. The total amount planned for all the municipalities of the country amounts to 40 million euros.
The funds will be used to carry out projects or programs aimed at implementing the measures provided for in the State Pact, which was approved by the plenary of the Congress of Deputies on September 28, 2017. Activities such as: awareness-raising campaigns and prevention of any form of violence against women and the production of information materials; the establishment of support units at the local level or of cooperation and coordination instruments such as local bureaux; the strengthening of municipal services for the care and information of victims; the specialized and ongoing training of local professionals on all forms of violence against women; the strengthening of local police forces attached to the VioGén system; or support for family meeting points.
The implementation period for these activities covers the period from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.
Distribution criteria
The money is distributed among all municipalities in Spain according to the criteria established by Royal Decree 1023/2020, of 17 November, and consists of a fixed amount per municipality of 1,000 euros, to which is added another fixed amount of 0.18 euros per inhabitant.
After this initial distribution, the remainder that exists is distributed among all the municipalities whose Police Force is incorporated into the Comprehensive Monitoring System in Cases of Gender Violence (VioGén), as well as among the municipalities in which women users of the telephone service of Attention and Protection for victims of gender violence (ATENPRO) are registered.
