The device put in place by the State Security Forces and Bodies during the Sanfermines ends with a total of 464 complaints filed with the National Police, 38 less than those registered in 2022. Most of them, 298, correspond to theft, a figure higher than the 242 recorded in the last festivities.
For its part, the Civil Guard has detected, in the controls carried out, a total of 368 positives for alcohol consumption and 139, for drugs.
The government delegate in Navarre, José Luis Arasti, has highlighted the atmosphere of “normality” in which the festivities have passed, and has thanked the different bodies and security forces for the great work done not only during the Sanfermines, but also in the previous weeks, during the preparation of the device.
National Police balance
The National Police, which has mobilized some 800 officers during the holidays, has registered a total of 464 complaints for criminal offences compared to 502 in 2022. Theft remains the most common crime. A total of 298 complaints have been processed, compared to 242 in 2022. There have been 10 reports of robbery with violence and 4 of robbery with force. In addition, 9 complaints have been registered for injuries; 3 for abuse in the family environment; and 1 for damages.
In total, 39 people have been arrested, 22 fewer than in 2022.
Civil Guard data
On the part of the Civil Guard, the device for the sanfermines has integrated 649 agents. Its main activity during the festivities has been twofold: on the one hand, the monitoring of traffic safety and, on the other, citizen security controls.
In total, 1,351 control devices have been made, of which 1,082 have been citizen security and 269, traffic. In them, 70,743 alcohol tests have been carried out in which 368 positives have been registered, 17 of them with criminal rates. In addition, 336 drug tests with 139 positives have been performed. In the Sanfermines of 2022, 303 positives were detected by alcohol consumption and 47, by drug consumption.
