The Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Navarre, with the collaboration of the Navarre Business Confederation (CEN), has organized a conference on road safety at work to be held on the 15th in Pamplona with the aim of publicizing the measures that have proven to be effective in preventing work-related traffic accidents.
Road accidents are one of the first causes of death due to an accident at work. In Navarre, the percentage of accidents in itínere compared to the total number of accidents with medical leave increased from 8.8 percent in 2020 to 9.7 percent in 2021. That year there were 12 serious accidents in itínere, doubling the figure for 2020, while accidents with fatalities went from 0 to 9.
Most of these accidents are caused by private motor vehicles, mainly cars and motorcycles, since a large part of the daily commutes of millions of people to access their workplaces are carried out precisely in this type of vehicle.
The day will have the participation of experts in the field of public administrations, companies, associations, prevention services and social representatives.
This working meeting is a forum for meeting and analysis of mobility linked to the work environment, and the final objective is that companies can adopt measures that guarantee safe mobility, promoting awareness of the need for its proper management and promoting the elaboration and implementation of safe mobility plans.
People interested in attending the day can register until March 12 by sending an email with their personal data and company to which they belong to the email jptna@dgt.es.
