The government delegate attended yesterday the opening ceremony of the integral rehabilitation of the Miguel Medina de Archena building, in which the Government of Spain has invested 1.4 million euros through the Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings, Pirep Local. The rest, 381,000 euros, has been contributed by the town hall.
Francisco Lucas has highlighted the historical investment of the Government of Spain in the Region of Murcia in recent years, and has indicated that only through this program, the central executive has allocated 40 million euros for the rehabilitation of public buildings in 28 municipalities of the Region of Murcia.
“Today Archena recovers an emblematic building from its historic center. The Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings of the Government of Spain has been decisive to return this property to the archeneros and the archeneras, which will be able to host all kinds of cultural, social, formative and institutional activities,” he said at the opening ceremony, which was also attended by the mayor of the municipality, Patricia Fernández, and the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Mire.
“The commitment of the Government of Spain to this Region is evident and reaches all sectors, groups and institutions, including the Autonomous Community, which thanks to this line of the Automic Pirep has received 15.2 million euros, with which it will rehabilitate public buildings of its property, mainly educational and health centers, which is allowing to improve vital infrastructures for citizens,” added Lucas.
The government delegate has detailed that the central executive has enabled, within its Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), a specific line to subsidize the sustainable rehabilitation of buildings of public ownership and use, endowed with 1,080 million euros, of which 600 were destined to local entities throughout Spain and 480 to the autonomous communities.
Finally, Lucas stressed that the rehabilitation of the Miguel Medina building in Archena confirms the benefits of institutional collaboration, and reaffirmed his commitment to dialogue, agreement and cooperation between administrations.
“As a delegate of the Government of Spain, my goal is to be useful to our land. You have here an ally to build bridges and boost the growth of Archena and the Region of Murcia”, he concluded.
