September 29, 2025. The government delegate announced this morning that the government delegation will attend to a historical demand of the College of Nursing of the Region for the Civil Guard to offer training courses in protection and self-defense techniques to nurses and nurses of the Region of Murcia to prevent aggressions and violent behaviors.
“One of the problems that health workers face is aggression and violent attitudes on the part of some patients. Fortunately, it is a minority, but from the Delegation of the Government of Spain we are going to respond to this intolerable situation.
Therefore, the Civil Guard will offer health personnel training in prevention techniques and self-defense against potentially conflicting situations in the health field,” explained the government delegate after meeting with the president of the Official College of Nursing of the Region of Murcia, Amelia Corominas.
Lucas, who has indicated that this type of courses are already taught in other communities and that it will now be implemented in our Region, has taken the opportunity to thank all health personnel for their work and reiterate his firm condemnation of any aggression or violent attitude against health professionals.
“The Government Delegation will use all the resources at our disposal to guarantee the safety of health personnel. Because caring for those who care for us is our duty and a moral obligation,” he concluded.
For its part, Corominas has expressed its satisfaction with the news and thanks to the Government Delegation. “We have come this morning to transfer our request and we have found that the delegate of the Government and the Civil Guard had already prepared a response proposing an intensive training for our professionals that, undoubtedly, we will take advantage of. It is a day to be happy, because in the face of our concern, we have found a strong, effective and very grateful response,” he said.
