- The Government delegate visited the territorial delegation of the State Meteorological Agency to thank its officials for their work and analyze the situation and forecast for the coming days
March 7, 2025. The delegate of the Government visited this morning the Territorial Delegation of the State Meteorological Agency, where she reported that this agency issued 64 warnings for adverse weather phenomena between March 1 and the morning of this Friday, March 7.
Mariola Guevara thanked the work of all the AEMET staff during the recent rainy episode that has toured the Region of Murcia. “A rigorous work that they carry out daily, but with special merit during these days, since their constant alerts have allowed both the population and the other administrations to be prevented to adopt the necessary preventive measures,” he said.
The delegate of the Government regretted the statements of some political leaders questioning in recent hours the work and the alerts of AEMET and relating them directly, and without foundation, to the damages produced by the storm. “The announcements have been permanent, constant, very adjusted to what has really happened, and all this well in advance for all the municipalities and the Autonomous Community itself to adopt the appropriate preventive measures and constitute their respective coordination centers. What AEMET and CHS alerts and coordination between the two agencies do is save lives and minimize storm damage, as happened in DANA 2019,” he added.
In addition, Guevara has recalled that the CHS issued 242 notices in the same period.
The territorial delegate of Aemet, Juan Esteban Palenzuela, has stressed that the situation for the next weekend is completely different. “We have the influence of an Atlantic storm that will give rise to cloudy skies and some occasional rainfall, between weak and moderate, but without the persistence of the last days,” he said.
