- The Council of Ministers, on the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPD), has authorized the total distribution of 25.7 million euros to the autonomous communities
- The development of the state network of VET centres of excellence, the mobility of students and teachers in centres in other countries or the organization of the Professional Training Olympics are some of the objectives of these funds

July 30, 2024.- The Government, on the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, has approved at the Council of Ministers on Tuesday the distribution to the Region of Murcia of 933,622 euros, for actions that strengthen quality in the new Vocational Training system. In total, the distribution of 25.7 million euros to the autonomous communities has been authorized to boost the quality of Vocational Training.
These funds, coming from the General State Budgets for 2024, will be destined for actions that allow the development of the national network of centers of excellence of Professional Training of the MEFPD, that guarantee stays of teachers and trainers in companies and FP centers or that ensure the mobility of students and people in training through stays in and out of Spain.
This funding will also go towards organising and holding the regional, state, European and world Vocational Training Championships, developing collaborative projects with sectoral associations to support small businesses, as well as carrying out innovation and knowledge transfer projects, among others.
The autonomous communities will be able to execute these funds from September 1 to December 31, 2025. Since 2020, the Ministry has distributed more than 69.8 million euros for this purpose.
In addition, the Council of Ministers has given the green light to the extension of the period of execution of the funds corresponding to the programme for the digitisation of the educational system. These funds come from component 19 of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (MRR) and amount to 989.2 million euros. With the agreement reached today, the autonomous communities will be able to execute them until December 31, 2025.
This program, approved in July 2021, includes funds for the provision of portable devices, with the objective of reducing the digital access gap on the part of students, for the installation and maintenance of interactive digital classrooms and for teacher training in the use of this technology.
