- They belong to the 39 promotion of the Basic Scale and will complete their training period going through the five operational specialties of the Corps
- The delegate of the Government has encouraged them to take advantage of this year to learn from the great professionals who make up "one of the best Superior Headquarters in Spain"
July 3, 2024. Mariola Guevara has received 66 interns this morning who during the next year will strengthen the staff of the Superior Police Headquarters in the Region of Murcia while completing a training period that will force them to pass through the five operational specialties of the Corps, Citizen Security, Judicial Police (investigation of crimes and misdemeanours), Information Brigade (investigation and anti-terrorism), Scientific Police Brigade and the Aliens and Borders Unit.
“These are 19 women and 47 men who will serve in Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca and Molina de Segura whose arrival coincides with a particularly critical period such as summer, which obliges to redouble efforts to support the regional tourism sector and thus guarantee the protection and security of all citizens, nationals and foreigners, who come or move through the Region of Murcia to enjoy its summer vacation period. Therefore, this is a very important reinforcement of troops for next year and particularly for these summer months,” explained the delegate of the Government.
Guevara has welcomed them and encouraged them to take advantage of their stay to learn as much as they can from the magnificent professionals that make up the Superior Headquarters, one of the best in Spain, he said, and to enjoy the benefits of the Region of Murcia, “whose quality of life is due, to a large extent, to the work done by the national police officers assigned here and to which, from now on, you will also contribute,” he added.
The delegate of the Government recalled that this reinforcement is part of the commitment of the Ministry of the Interior to increase its staff, materialized in the new offer of public employment, by which 5,505 new places have just been convened throughout Spain of National Police and Civil Guard.
In this sense, the Superior Chief, Ignacio del Olmo has valued the national character of the Corps, which allows that, in case of need, there is the endorsement and support of 70,000 men throughout Spain. “Our staff in the Region of Murcia is sufficient, but in case of need, as happened with the Lorca earthquake and on other occasions, we will have the operational support of other units. We have a staff that is proven, but, in addition, we have the resources of the National Police throughout Spain if necessary,” he concluded.
