- The Council of Ministers has authorized the total distribution of 38.5 million to autonomous communities and autonomous cities
- These funds are added to those already distributed in 2022 and 2023, and must be approved in the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System
May 14, 2024.- The Council of Ministers, at the proposal of the Ministry of Health, has authorized the distribution of 1,378,431 euros to the Region of Murcia for mental health. In total, the autonomous communities and cities will receive an investment of 38.5 million euros for actions in this matter, after approval in the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System (CISNS).
These funds give continuity to those approved last year within the Mental Health Action Plan 2022-2024, which is the tool that facilitates the implementation in the SNS of the recommendations made in the Mental Health Strategy 2022-2026.
The objective of this Action Plan is to contribute to the improvement of the mental health of the population through the development of prioritized actions of the Mental Health Strategy 2022-2026 in all areas of the SNS, in order to address the effects on mental health of the health and social crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The actions to be developed by the Action Plan are presented through six strategic lines and have been agreed with the autonomous communities and submitted to the CISNS for the approval of their financing.
The authorized funds will be distributed to all the autonomous communities (except the Basque Country and the Foral Community of Navarre) and INGESA by 5% in a linear manner, applying a minimum amount to each territory; and 95% distributed by population criteria.
