- The caravan of vehicles will be able to occupy two lanes of the Paseo Teniente Flomesta to free the Gran Vía
- The bus lane will be cleared to allow the circulation of emergency vehicles
- The Government delegation recommends to all citizens the use of alternative routes in anticipation of traffic cuts caused by demonstrators in the main roads of the Region
February 20, 2024. The farmers who plan to demonstrate tomorrow in Murcia must remove their tractors from the streets of the city at 3 p.m. and respect the departure time of the schools, as the representatives of the agricultural organizations have committed themselves this morning to one of the numerous meetings held during the last few days with the delegate of the Government and representatives of the Forces and Security Corps of the State.
In addition, the vehicle caravan will be able to occupy two lanes of the Paseo Teniente Flomesta and leave the bus lane free for the use of emergency services. In this way, the Gran Vía will be released for a normal circulation.
The two caravans that plan to reach Murcia from Cartagena and the Vega Media will make their entrance to the city of Murcia by Ronda Sur and Juan Carlos I respectively before coinciding in the Circular Square and moving along the Gran Vía to Teniente Flomesta, where the vehicles will remain parked until the demonstration ends.
At the end of the afternoon, the delegate of the Government, Mariola Guevara, met again with the representatives of the farmers to convey the final resolution regarding the routes initially proposed by the farmers, who, given the complexity of the operation of road safety and citizen security that they require, have suffered some modifications and limitations, always trying to reconcile the right of assembly of the conveners with the rights and security of the farmers themselves and the other users of the roads.
Thus, for reasons of public order, the roadblocks will be carried out with the following conditions:
-Minimisation of cut times to 7 minutes, as regulated and established by the Road Standard 8.3-IC Signage of works, in case of total cuts of a motorway or motorway fighter, with an IMD (Intensity Average Day)>2,000 veh/day.
-It will be left at all times through one of the lanes, as indicated in the request.
-Obey the instructions of the Agents of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard, in charge of traffic regulation.
-In case of special needs of accessibility of emergency vehicles (sanitary, firefighters, etc.), the cuts will be lifted and the mechanisms for the concurrence of the necessary mobility will be enabled to ensure a safe transit in the minimum time required for its purpose.
-Auxiliary means will be provided to alert the possible existence of retentions, in order to minimize the risk of scope.
-Likewise, the tractors will be located in the right lane of the road (only occupation and parking), leaving the left lane free for the rest of the users of the tracks during the entire period of the cuts.
-All staff attending the rally must wear reflective vests.
Finally, in view of the anticipated traffic cuts caused by demonstrators on important communication routes such as the A-30, A-7, R-M 19, A-33 or RM-15, the government delegation recommends to all citizens the use of alternative routes to reach their workplaces or studios, the use, as far as possible, of public transport and that they be informed through accounts and official bodies.
