- It will raise the base of assembly from which the deployment will begin in the Murcia-Lorca stretch
- Balance in the high speed: the whole platform is under way, signage in tender and the first electrification works have been contracted
Murcia, January 09, 2024. Adif AV takes a new step in the development of the new Murcia-Almería High Speed Line (LAV) with the mobilization of a new investment of 31.3 million euros to undertake a new phase of the works, the assembly of tracks.
The company has authorized the deployment of the base from which the track will be assembled in a first section of the line, the Murcia-Lorca (60 km). The base will be built in the municipality of Librilla and will be built while the drafting of the projects of the works of assembly of the tracks is completed.
The installation will have tracks and space for the reception and collection of the track elements (ballast, rail, sleepers and ballast) and a storage and office building. Subsequently, it will become the maintenance base of the line and the Murcia-Monforte del Cid route.
Continuous push to LAV
Adif AV has allocated an investment of 3.5 billion euros to the development of this line, which will integrate Almería into the high-speed network and is a strategic part of the Mediterranean Corridor.
After the recent contracting of the section of LAV Murcia-Almería as it passes through Lorca, all sections of the line’s platform are under way (contracted, under construction or completed). In parallel, along with the projects of the assembly of tracks, the installation of the signalling equipment has been licit and the first electrification works have been contracted.
The action contributes to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 9 (promoting reliable, sustainable and quality infrastructure), 8 (economic growth and job creation), 7 (sustainability) and 11 (inclusive cities).
