The Government approves the granting of regional incentives for four investment projects in the Region of Murcia for more than 2.5 million euros

• It will mobilize an investment of over 13.9 million euros and will create 32 new jobs and maintain another 171
• In total this year in Murcia regional incentives have been approved for eleven projects that have received 7.7 million euros in grants and have involved a total investment of 39 million

January 3, 2024.- The Government, through an Agreement of the Government Delegated Commission for Economic Affairs (CDGAE) and an Order of the Ministry of Finance, has approved the granting of regional incentives to a total of 102 projects in ten Autonomous Communities. Specifically, this aid is intended for Aragon, the Region of Murcia, Castilla-La Mancha, Cantabria, Galicia, the Canary Islands, Castilla y León, Andalusia, Extremadura and the Valencian Community.

The overall amount of the grants awarded is 261,269,202.72 euros and will allow a total investment of 1,385,317,364 euros to be mobilized. These projects will maintain 12,486 jobs and create an additional 2,502 new jobs.

In the specific case of the Region of Murcia, according to the Ministerial Order that will be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), four projects have been approved via Ministerial Order, since the eligible investment does not exceed 15 million euros per company.

These four projects received a grant of 2,554,714 euros, representing a total investment of 13,923,146 euros.

They will also create 32 new jobs and maintain a further 171 jobs.

This year in Region of Murcia, regional incentives have been approved for 11 projects involving a total investment of 39,014,447 euros. These initiatives have received 7,725,241 euros and have made it possible to create 103 jobs and maintain 642 jobs.

This aid contributes to the interterritorial economic balance and to inclusive and sustainable economic growth by financing productive investment projects, job generators, technologically advanced and environmentally sustainable, promoting economic activity in the regions with a lower level of development and helping to close the gap in terms of per capita income with the rest of the regions, not only of Spain but also of the EU.

During the five years of Pedro Sánchez’s government, the investments subsidized through regional incentives have doubled throughout Spain compared to the last five years of the previous Executive. Specifically, in the period 2019-2023, a total of 1,059 million grants were approved for these projects, compared to 492 million in the period 2013-2017.
