January 24, 2024. The delegate of the Government received this morning the Inspector-Chief of the National Police Miguel Marcos Castro Martín, who from today assumes the post of Head of the Local Police Station of Molina de Segura, a staff in which 120 members of the National Police and the general bodies of the administration carry out their functions in the different citizen security units, judicial police, scientific police and office of the DNI and documentation.

Mariola Guevara has told him that she assumes a great challenge in a municipality as strategic and populated as Molina de Segura, but she has been convinced that her extensive experience and academic training make her an ideal profile for this new responsibility.

Castro Martín, with a degree in Law from the University of Granada and a degree in Police Science from the University of Salamanca, joined the National Police in 1999 and rose to the rank of Inspector-Chief in 2018.

In his professional career he has been assigned to the Provincial Police Station of Almería, where he developed his functions in the Citizen Security and Judicial Police Brigades, and since 2018 he has been assigned to the Superior Police Headquarters of the Region of Murcia, where he is currently Section Chief of the Specialized and Violent Crimes Unit, UDEV, of the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade of that Headquarters.

We must highlight his extensive professional experience as National Police Negotiator, with the resolution of numerous conflictive situations, including the recent cases in the city of Murcia of the man who climbed to the top of a high-altitude crane or the man who accessed the roofs of the Cathedral, as well as the case in Cañada Hermosa in the month of December 2022 in which another man barricaded himself with several firearms after retaining his own sister, all cases with a positive and effective resolution.

He has received numerous decorations, among which three Crosses to Police Merit with White badge and the Cross to Merit of the Civil Guard with White badge stand out.
