October 18, 2023. The government delegate has chaired the Local Security Board of Mazarrón, where he has detailed the evolution of crime figures in the municipality in the last year. In this regard, Jiménez has especially highlighted the 16.2% decrease in burglaries in homes, establishments and other facilities in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period last year.
In addition, Francisco Jiménez has valued the decrease of 18.2% in burglaries in homes, 21.4% in burglaries with violence or intimidation and 15.4% in crimes related to sexual freedom.
“These are very positive figures taking into account the current context, in which the new forms of crime, such as cybercrime, which currently accounts for one in five crimes, tends to raise the overall crime statistics of any municipality,” explained the government delegate.
For his part, the mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo thanked "the good disposition" of the government delegate with his locality, "for the interest that is taken in matters that concern the municipality, especially in matters of security".
During the Board they reviewed other issues of common interest to both administrations, reaffirmed their shared commitment to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Mazarrón and organized the security device on the occasion of the Bolnuevo festivities, which will be held in November.
