- Subsequently, the government delegate has transferred the new measures to all municipalities in the Region
October 18, 2023. The Government delegate met with the Superior Chief of Police, Ignacio del Olmo, and the Lieutenant Colonel, Interim Chief of the 5th Zone of the Civil Guard, Diego Mercader, to analyze the implementation of complementary security measures within level 4 out of 5 of the anti-terrorist alert ordered yesterday by the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaska, after the meeting of the Terrorist Threat Assessment Board, body responsible for assessing all security elements that affect the terrorist risk in Spain.
Among the measures, the reinforcement of security devices on certain particularly sensitive points and the increase of anti-terrorist measures by the State Security Forces and Corps stand out.
“It must be remembered that level 4 out of 5 already involves strict measures to strengthen security devices, with the activation of certain special units, reinforcement of protection devices, increase of surveillance measures on critical infrastructures and coordination of cyber-surveillance measures, in addition to carrying out periodic evaluations on all these measures,” explained Francisco Jiménez.
At the end of the meeting, the government delegate has given timely transfer of the new measures to all municipalities in the Region of Murcia.
