- 1,300 national police are part of the device, with specialized units arrived from Madrid and other points of the national territory

September 27, 2023. The National Police begins the critical phase of the special device on the occasion of the European Union meetings in the city of Murcia, which will have the participation of 1,300 national police belonging to the Superior Police Headquarters of Murcia, Central Units, as well as other units coming from various points of the national territory.
The National Police will provide protection to all the delegations of the countries participating in the European Union summit in Murcia, establishing permanent security controls in the meeting places, as well as in the accesses to the city of Murcia, to guarantee citizen security and the normal development of the planned acts.
In addition, the CECOR Coordination Centre has been established at the headquarters of the Higher Police Headquarters of Murcia. This body is made up of heads of the Secretary of State for Security of the Ministry of the Interior, the Coordination Office for the Presidency of the European Union of the Presidency of the Government, the Government Delegation in the Region of Murcia, the National Police, the Civil Guard, the Local Police of Murcia and AENA, in permanent communication and coordination with the rest of health and emergency services.
Highlight the presence in Murcia of the Police Intervention Units UIP, Subsoil Units, Canine Guides, Central Protection Unit, Special Operations Group GOES, Prevention and Reaction Units UPR, Technicians in deactivation of explosives TEDAX-NRBQ, Mobile Brigade, Private Security, as well as the air media unit with the use of drones and helicopters of the National Police.
The events will take place on 27, 28 and 29 September, with meetings of ministers (RIM) of the General Affairs and Cohesion Policy Councils of the European Union.
