August 30, 2023. The Government Delegation will deploy a device of nine hundred National Police officers and one hundred Civil Guard officers to guarantee security during the Feria de Murcia 2023 that begins tomorrow.
The delegate of the Government, Francisco Jiménez, has said that the presence of the agents will be constant during the days of celebration and will extend, in addition, to the districts of Murcia, where surveillance actions of a preventive nature will be carried out so that the neighbors can move quietly to the city and enjoy the program of events.
“It is inconceivable to think about the viability of an event of this magnitude without an adequate security device, and that is why we have prepared an ambitious deployment of material and human resources of the National Police and Civil Guard that, in coordination with Local Police, Firefighters, Civil Protection and emergency services, will guarantee citizen security, both in the city and in the districts,” explained Jiménez.
To this end, the government delegate indicates, from the moment of the descent of the Virgin, a National Police helicopter will begin to overfly the area, and with the help of drones equipped with thermal cameras, it will facilitate a more exhaustive control every day and in all scenarios for possible interventions in areas where agglomerations occur.
“In addition to uniformed agents, there will be a significant presence of civilian personnel to prevent and intervene if necessary, with special attention to possible sexual assaults, and alcohol controls will be carried out at the entrance and exit of the city, among other measures such as control operations and detection of metals and dangerous objects in the accesses to the premises or areas of mass concentration of people,” added Jiménez.
