- At 15 hours a device is activated that is divided into two phases and will last until April 10
- This is the time when the highest intensity of vehicles is recorded throughout the year
March 31, 2023. Two phases make up the Special Traffic Operation of Holy Week that begins at 15 hours this afternoon and foresees 850,000 trips on our roads until its completion on April 10, the Provincial Traffic Chief reported today during the presentation of this special device.
The first phase extends from today and until next Sunday, April 2, and includes 225,000 trips along the regional roads. The second phase begins on Wednesday 5 and ends on Monday 10, a period in which 495,000 trips are planned.
“This volume of travel obliges us to have a special device to guarantee the safety and fluidity of the same, in which two hundred agents of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard will participate carrying out surveillance, control and extraordinary regulation,” said Virginia Jerez, who added that during these days fixed speed control points and five mobile radar vehicles will be established.

“We must make an appeal for co-responsibility in the face of these journeys so that drivers have proper foresight and prudence in driving. Forecast to check that the vehicle is in the right technical conditions to drive, because, for example, two of the fatal accidents that occurred this year on interurban roads were as a result of a breakdown. And also prudence and responsibility, since in 57% of the seven fatal accidents of this year in interurban roads there were four of the drivers’ alcohol or drugs,” Jerez warned.
