March 29, 2023. The Agricultural Employment Promotion Program will allocate 6,055,379.36 euros in its call of 2023 for the hiring of about 1,207 temporary workers in depressed rural areas of twenty-two municipalities of the Region of Murcia.
The Regional Monitoring Commission, chaired by the government delegate, José Vélez, has approved the distribution of some funds, provided entirely by the State Public Employment Service, which increase by 5% compared to last year and whose increase since 2016 rises to 31.9%.
The objective of this program is to improve the situation of the group of temporary workers of the Special System of Agricultural Workers with the dual purpose of improving their training and employability and, in addition, to promote rooting in depressed rural areas.
This money is used to finance salary costs and company contributions for carrying out work on projects of general and social interest managed and contracted by the Local Corporations.
The start of the works varies according to the municipalities, as it is a condition that the execution of the project coincides with periods of low agricultural activity. For this year it is planned that the municipalities can start the projects during the second half of July or the beginning of August.
