The Government Delegation today welcomed a minute’s silence in condemnation of the murder by gender violence of Alejandra Emilia, 42, and her son Samuel, a 2-year-old boy, in Algamesí, province of Valencia, on June 25, 2025, and reiterated its deepest condolences to their families and friends.
With the confirmation of this case, the number of women killed by gender violence amounts to 17 in 2025 and 1,311 since 2003, when these data were first collected. The number of minors killed by gender violence in Spain amounts to 3 in 2025 and 65 since 2013, the date on which the records began.
The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, has once again expressed her absolute condemnation and rejection of this machista murder and they transfer all their support to the relatives and friends of the victims. She has also made it clear that “as a democratic society, we cannot tolerate any kind of violence against women because they are women.”
The head of the Government Delegation has insisted on the need for a comprehensive approach in which institutions, administrations and the whole of society are coordinated to maintain this struggle from unity, firmness and collective commitment. “We are going to continue promoting equality policies from the Government of Spain,” he said.
The highest representative of the Executive of the nation in our city has assured that education on equality is key to continue fighting this violence against women. In addition, he insisted that “despite the negationist approaches of male violence, we will persevere and continue to move towards a more just, egalitarian and free society of male violence.”
From the Ministry of Equality, through the Government Delegation against Gender Violence, it is recalled that telephone 016 and the other services of attention and advice are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and are accessible to all people.
On the other hand, it is also recalled that in an emergency situation you can call 112 or the emergency telephones of the National Police (091) and the Civil Guard (062). In case it is not possible to make a call and in a situation of danger, you can use the ALERTCOPS application, from which an alert signal will be sent to the police with geolocation.
These means of assistance can be used both by victims and by anyone who knows or suspects a situation of gender violence.
