The Multipurpose Center of Services for Elderly People of the Imserso, popularly known as the Residence of Elderly, celebrated yesterday afternoon, in style the arrival of the summer solstice, in a day in which residents, relatives and workers of the center have been able to enjoy a snack, good music and, of course, a good candlestick.
The Center prepared a snack for residents and their families, which was enlivened by the Melillense group ‘Café a la 11’, with versions of songs such as ‘Flamenco’ by Los Brincos or ‘Alla en el tro mundo’ by Albert Hammond. In addition, a photocall and a photobooth were enabled, so that the participants in the celebration could immortalize the moment and paste the photographs to an album of memories that the Imserso prepared for the event.
Yesterday afternoon served to pay tribute to Stella, Hamud and Maleni, workers of the center who have retired, as well as to transfer a show of affection to Antonia and Lucinda, two users who have reached 100 years of age.
As a mark of tradition, a box of wishes was installed so that all those who participated yesterday in the celebration could write on a piece of paper their requests and wishes and then burn in the fire. The candlestick, which put the brooch to an afternoon of meeting and fraternity, had been made by the residents of the center.
The Government Delegate, Sabrina Moh, in her speech before the attendees, recognized that it is a pleasure for her to be able to share with the residents such a special day and thanked the presence of family, workers and users because, “although it is an activity that organizes the center is a city activity”.
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city conveyed words of thanks to all the people who make it possible for this celebration to take place.
The Terriorial Director of the Imserso, Verónica Aznar, for her part, acknowledged that the celebration of San Juan “is one of the most special days that is celebrated in the center” and highlighted the fact that, every year, there are more people in this day “participating as a family”.
Aznar had words of affection for the users of the center, while thanking the presence of the relatives and valued the work done by the workers of the center.
The event counted, in addition to the presence of the Delegate and the Territorial Director of the Imserso and the management team of the Residence, with the Secretary General of the Delegation, Sana Abdeslam; the Director of the Day Center, Ramón Paqué; the Director of the Base Center, Teresa Rizo; the Territorial Director of the INGESA, Omar Haouari; the Head of Coordination Against Gender Violence, Laura Segura; the Head of the Labor Inspection, Saturnino García; the Councilor of Business Education, Miguel Ronda,
