The Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation in Melilla carried out this morning a training activity on awareness, prevention and action against violence against women at the headquarters of the Food Bank.
The Head of the Unit, Laura Segura Sarompas, has developed this activity with the staff of the Food Bank, volunteers and users of this organization.
“The fundamental idea of this training is to bring the resources of violence against women closer to the victims but, in turn, also to raise awareness about what is violence against women, all forms of violence against women, not only gender violence in the area of the couple or ex-couple, but all the forms that somehow affect women in our city,” he explained.
It is ultimately about being able to sensitize the staff of the Food Bank and with the objective that they “know how to act when there are situations of violence or they can detect cases of violence within the users or users who can access the center”.
The president of the Food Bank, Pedro Paredes, has made clear the importance of, from his entity, working for a more just and egalitarian society and, precisely for this reason, he has thanked Segura for having carried out this training.
