“We want to continue working and we want to continue bringing the Administration closer to the Melillense citizens, not only through the different meetings or appointments that can be offered from the different services.”
The Delegate of the Government in Melilla, Sabrina Moh, has presented the program ‘The Administration near you’, which aims to bring the services of the General Administration of the State (AGE) closer to the citizens, facilitating the realization of different administrative procedures without having to travel to the different agencies.
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city has assured that, “since we arrived at the Government of Spain and, specifically, this Government Delegation, one of the objectives we have set ourselves has been to bring the General Administration of the State closer to the citizens.”
In this way, the Government Delegate has advanced that, taking advantage of the fact that this Monday the deadline for applying for the scholarships for post-compulsory studies of the Ministry of Education was opened, they are going to start working in the different educational centers providing help and advice to families and students for the application of the same.
In this regard, he pointed out that this morning he held a meeting to design this action within the educational field with the Provincial Director of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD), Elena Fernández Treviño, and with the Head of the Educational Programs Unit (UPE) of the Provincial Directorate, María Victoria Menchacatorre.
The head of the Government Delegation explained that they will have staff from the Employment Plan, specifically the Administrative Assistant profiles. They will receive a preliminary training, scheduled on April 1, in which “with the help of leaders of the Provincial Directorate, everything will be taught and shown to be able to guide and help families to complete the application for these scholarships,” he said.
Places of attention to citizenship
In this way, they are going to establish a team of professionals to attend to the interested parties at a fixed point, in the office of attention to the citizen located in UPE Formación -old Colegio Pablo Montesinos - Paseo de Ronda, nº 19. There, the consultations can be held from April 2 to 16, coinciding with the Holy Week holidays.
The Delegate of the Government has detailed that, as these are scholarships for Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching, it has been foreseen that in the 9 centers of the city that offer these modalities a calendar is provided in which it is determined when the attention to citizenship will be carried out in the same centers, in the morning and afternoon, “so that those people who require it have an hourly flexibility, a greater number of attentions can be made.”
“Now the Provincial Directorate will finish closing this calendar with the different educational centers and then it will be publicized so that the citizens know at what time that team will be in each of them,” he explained. This service will be provided from April 21st to May 14th.
These centers are: CIFP Reina Victoria Eugenia, IES Leopoldo Queipo, IES Rusadir, IES Virgen de la Victoria, IES Juan Antonio Fernández Pérez, IES Miguel Fernández, IES Enrique Nieto, Miguel Marmolejo School of Art and Official School of Languages.

At this point, the highest representative of the Spanish Government in Melilla has advanced that they will continue to extend the dates to be able to attend the next scholarships of the Ministry of Education, as well as the other issues in the educational field that citizenship requires.
But not only that, Moh has explained that this team of professionals will travel through the different neighborhoods of the city to make guidelines regarding other services of the General Administration of the State, such as SEPE, Social Security, or obtaining the digital certificate.
To this end, he has announced that in the coming days they will hold meetings with the different Provincial and Territorial Directorates to design all these actions, among which information and accompaniment campaigns stand out, “so that citizens can have a more accessible, more direct, closer service and that they can know first-hand how to do any procedure with the Administration,” he stressed.
Other performances
In this regard, Sabrina Moh has taken the opportunity to recall the various actions that have been carried out by the Government Delegation, such as the ‘Open Days’, aimed at non-profit associations and entities and students of Vocational Training.
He also mentioned the ‘First Professional Experience Programme in Public Administrations’, which offers a first work experience in Public Administrations to unemployed young people who have completed their formal education. “A successful project, which had several calls, and which has responded to 14 young people in our city,” he said.
