The Provincial Director of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) in Melilla, Elena Fernández Treviño, has shown her concern for the future of the students of the Band, Orchestra and Choir ‘Ciudad de Melilla’ (ASBANOR), after almost a year has passed since the Music School ‘Paula Guillén Gallego’ had to stop being used for damages in the property.
Thus, he recalled that the MEFPyD allowed the transfer of the ASBANOR to the CEIP Enarcan León while the school arrangements were carried out, however, from the local government in this time “nothing has been done”.
“The Ministry of Culture, which is 100% in charge of the maintenance subsidy of that school, has not put a single half in almost a year to reform, to condition and ultimately to have that school ready and put into operation,” he lamented.
Delving into this issue, she recalled that a few days ago the Minister of Culture herself spoke of the fact that the building had serious problems that had to be addressed and yet “they have had ten months in which absolutely nothing has been done”.
“This is the way of proceeding of the People’s Party government. They create the problems and then the solutions are provided by the others and, in some cases, they do not thank them” he said in reference to what has happened with the provisional tanatorium.
"They - in reference to the Executive of the PP - create the problem for the citizens, they do not solve it, they leave it there to die, but it is very good that quickly the others solve the ballot," he said and has recognized that the General Administration of the State, as they are constantly demonstrating, "we put ourselves at the service of the citizens and solve problems."
“We are concerned about the students of that school, but it is the local government that has to put the solution”, he insisted and acknowledged that it is “striking that in a year absolutely nothing has been done and that next year we will have that student on the table again in an educational center that, obviously, by inertia and logic is growing”, he said, while explaining that the ‘Encarna León’ is growing and, in addition, the students of the ‘Real’ are going to move there next year, so “we are going to need those facilities”.
