The General Secretary of Vocational Training, Esther Monterrubio, met today in Melilla with about a hundred companies and entities to learn about the training needs of the different productive sectors of the territory. The head of FP has defended the participation of companies in the training of students. “Dual Vocational Training is an opportunity for the City’s economy. Co-responsibility between VET centres and companies is essential for improving the quality of training and for you to find the profiles you are looking for”, he insisted.
At the meeting, the general secretary was accompanied by the Delegate of the Government in Melilla, Sabrina Moh, and the Provincial Director of Education, Elena Fernández.
Monterrubio has emphasized the need to carry out a correct planning of the training offer of Vocational Training in the City, in accordance with the demands of the labor market. In addition, it has highlighted the importance of the accreditation of the professional competences of those workers who lack qualifications and who have learned to perform their work through work experience.
In the first year of implementation of the new model, more than 300 companies are participating in the Dual Vocational Training in Melilla. “The new VET system aimed at young people and workers is a fundamental instrument at our disposal to boost the economy and employment in the Autonomous City,” he concluded.
