The Head of the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation in Melilla, Laura Segura, continues with the talks of the Master Plan on Equality, Prevention and Action against Gender Violence.
Thus, yesterday the students of four groups of the ESO of the IES ‘Leopoldo Queipo’, thanks to these talks, addressed how to identify machista violence and the tools to continue building equality.
Today will be the turn of the students of the IES ‘Enrique Nieto’ and in the coming weeks the talks will continue in the College of Our Lady of Good Council, the IES ‘Juan Antonio Fernández Pérez’, or the IES ‘Miguel Fernández’ among others.
This initiative is part of the talks of the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of Security in Educational Centers and their Environments that have been developed for years by the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) and that are taught by the Coordination Unit Against Violence Against Women of the Government Delegation in Melilla.
As explained by Segura, the Master Plan covers different contents, one of its objectives being the prevention of behaviours of discrimination based on sex or sexual discrimination and the prevention of gender violence.
These training courses are aimed at fourth-year students from ESO, Vocational Training and Training Cycles and will be developed in the coming months by all the centres of the city.
In these workshops Segura works on the prevention of gender violence, being fundamental that the students are able to perceive the uniqueness of this violence and that they understand that the origin is in machismo and inequality.
The objective is that the students recognize the first signs of violence and, in this way, prevent future violent behaviors and in turn detect those that may already be occurring. Another of the main objectives of this plan is to increase the prevention of risks associated with new digital technologies or cyberbullying, since social networks and digital services introduce new forms of gender violence.
