The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) has convened 908 places for Spanish speaking assistants in schools in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malta, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
As stated by the Provincial Director, Juan Ángel Berbel, “through this program the knowledge and dissemination of the Spanish language and culture abroad are promoted, thanks to the work carried out by the Spanish conversation assistants”. “This program makes it possible for the participating conversation assistants to improve knowledge of the language and culture of the host country,” he added.
Berbel has explained that the job of the conversation assistant is to carry out tasks in the classroom as Spanish conversation practice assistants under the direction of a tutor teacher.
Spanish citizens with the university degree required in Annex I of the call or who are taking the last university course in 2024/2025 may be beneficiaries of this call.
The Provincial Director has stressed that the allocation of each aid will be determined by the educational authorities of the destination country; in the case of Canada and the United States, funding is provided by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports.
The deadline for submitting applications will be fifteen working days from the day following the publication of the call in the BOE (December 14).
