The Government Delegation has hosted a new meeting of the Local Security Board which has addressed the coordinated security mechanism between the State Security Forces and Bodies (FyCSE) and the Local Police for the Christmas holidays.
In this meeting, the main actions and activities have been addressed, especially attending to the moments of greater agglomeration, such as the lighting of the lights, the evening of December 24 and 31, the inauguration of the Bethlehem or the Cavalcade of Kings.
The head of the Government Delegation, Sabrina Moh, explained that for all these activities a device is organized according to the needs of each moment, “so that the Melillenses can enjoy the festivities with all the tranquility and security”.
The Christmas device, as every year, has two phases; a first preventive phase that will extend from December 10 to 23, where the police presence in some areas of the city such as the center will be slightly increased; and the main phase, from December 23 to January 8, coinciding with the dates of greater influx.
In this way, the presence of agents in the central area and adjacent streets, commercial spaces, polygons and places of leisure will be increased, with special deployment in times of closure and opening and greater influx.
During the Christmas celebrations, the security operation will be composed of Local Police, National Police and Civil Guard. The allocation of services by security forces will materialize when all the details are agreed and refined, at the expense of the Autonomous City revealing the programming of activities.
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city has also referred to the Safe Trade Plan, carried out by the National Police through theft and theft prevention efforts, with special emphasis on the Christmas season.
He also recalled that we are at level 4 of the anti-terrorist alert, pointing out that the State Security Forces and Bodies will act in the prevention of terrorism, with the aim of guaranteeing security during the holidays.
Both the Delegate of the Government and the Councilor for Citizen Security have taken the opportunity to thank the work that has been carried out throughout the year in terms of security.
The Board was chaired by the Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, and attended by the Councilor for Citizen Security, José Ronda; as well as those responsible for the Civil Guard, National Police and Local Police.
