The Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) of Melilla, through the Unit of Educational Programs (UPE), has made the call for the constitution of Training Projects in Centers, linked to the development of the Digital Educational Competence, which are constituted in its scope of action during the 2024/2025 school year.
As explained by the Provincial Director, Juan Ángel Berbel, this call is linked to the development of Digital Plans of Center, in turn framed within the Plan of Improvement of the Digital Educational Competence of Melilla #CompDigEdu, which will be developed during the 2024/2025 school year.
“It is a training, directed to a center as a unit, that favors the planning and development of training activities focused on the center itself and in its context as elements of educational change and innovation,” he said.
As has been said, the training projects in centers are based on collaborative work between peers and represent the recognition of the experience of the teachers as a fundamental value in the training processes, being essential its approval by a minimum of 60% of the faculty.
“Its objective is to promote self-evaluation processes and develop improvement projects in Digital Educational Competence based on the real needs of schools,” he said.
This modality will be able to count on the collaboration of experts, who guide, advise, help in joint reflection or exchange their own experiences in relation to the subject discussed.
Digital tools
The Centre Training Projects must follow priority lines that will respond to the need for training felt and expressed by the faculty to improve the educational practice in the centre.
In particular, the Provincial Directorate points out specific training on data security and protection, privacy and the guarantee of digital rights; training on the Moodle SED platform; the updated Digital Teacher Competence Reference Framework; specific training on computational thinking; specific training on Future Classroom; the integration of educational technologies in teaching practice; the use of interactive digital panels; pedagogical and didactic strategies in the use of digital technologies; digital tools for teacher coordination and communication and collaboration among members of the educational community; or training on virtual and augmented reality in the classroom.
The projects will have a coordinator, who will be the person in charge of the dynamization of the work, representation of the group and the writing of the Final Report.
The application of the Projects of Training in Centers on digital educational competence must be made by written request to the UPE and must be sent by electronic registration to the Provincial Address and a copy by email to this address competencia.digital@edumelilla.es. The application must be accompanied by the complete list of participants in PDF format signed by the director or director of the center.
The deadline for receiving applications begins today, November 11, and ends on November 20 and once the work is finished, a Report will be prepared in which the activity developed is collected and evaluated. The deadline for delivery of the Final Report will be May 25, 2025 and must be sent to the email address mentioned above.
