The Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) will give informative and awareness-raising talks in the different educational centers about diabetes from a preventive point of view.
The Government Delegation hosted a meeting last Friday between its head, Sabrina Moh, the Board of Directors of the Association of Diabetics of Melilla (Adimel), representatives of the Territorial Directorate of Ingesa, headed by its Director, Omar Haouari, and representatives of the Provincial Directorate of MEFPyD, including the Provincial Director himself, Juan Ángel Berbel.
A meeting in which the importance of publicizing this disease has been addressed, whose incidence has increased in recent years in our city and in the country as a whole, among other reasons due to the changes in the lifestyle of citizens.
Precisely with this objective of training, informing and sensitizing, the Provincial Directorate of Education will hold talks for both teachers and students in the different educational centers of the city.
Meanwhile, from the Ingesa, different proposals put forward at this meeting have been valued to improve the different services provided in our city in this matter.
The Delegate has also highlighted the activities that Adimel is going to carry out on the occasion of the commemoration of World Diabetes Day, which will take place next Thursday, November 14, so Moh has called on the Melillense citizens to participate in the activities that the Association is going to carry out during this day.
Thus, Adimel, among other activities, will carry out two information tables in the Plaza Menéndez Pelayo and in the Plaza of Cultures from 10:00 to 14:00, at 12:00 the reading of the manifesto will take place at the door of the Assembly Palace, and from 18:00 to 20:00, at the UNED, the Round Table will take place, with the President of the Spanish Diabetes Federation, Juan Francisco Perán.
