The Multipurpose Service Center for Older People, popularly known as Senior Citizens’ Residence, has hosted this lunchtime event on the occasion of the celebration of the ‘International Day of Older Persons 2024’.
On October 1, the International Day of the Elderly is commemorated and on the occasion of such an important event, the centers of the Imserso have had an extensive program to celebrate the ‘Week of the Elderly’. Today, a tribute has been paid to those people who participate daily in the activity of this Center.
In an event chaired by the Delegate of the Government in Melilla, Sabrina Moh; the Territorial Director of the Imserso, Verónica Aznar; and the Managing Director of the Center, Ibrahim Molina, a special mention has been made to Lucinda Infante and Miguel Núñez, the residents of Senior Age, a mention that was given to them last year.
Likewise, the valuable collaboration in all the activities has been recognized to the most participatory residents, Miguel García Hernández and María Martínez Martínez; as well as to the older ones, Emilia Arca López, Carmen Tur Camps and José González Gris.
On the other hand, commemorative plaques have been given to the workers of the Center that this year celebrates 25 years of service, Ángeles Bautista Gómez and Josefa Correa Pernía. In addition, the work, effort and dedication of two workers who have retired this year, Rosa Gómez Velasco and Dolores Arroyo Arcas, has been recognized.
The celebration counted on the musical performance of the singer María Mendoza, who has played two boleros and a pasodoble; as well as the endearing words of Francisco Aguilar Gómez, president of the Board of Government; and with the reading of a poem by Lucinda Infante.
