“In terms of migratory pressure, the Civil Guard has designed a device that responds to the situations that occur at all times.”
The Government Delegate, Sabrina Moh, to questions from media professionals, has referred to this matter after the news that has appeared on this subject in the sister city of Ceuta. “Every time there is some kind of movement, the Civil Guard puts in place those devices that are prepared to give answers at every moment, in every place that is required of them,” he said.
In this regard, the head of the Government Delegation has valued the responsiveness of the professionals and vehicles of the Benemérita both on the land perimeter and in the area of the Dique Sur.
Thus, he recalled that last month there has been significant pressure but not so in terms of materialized entries. “The Civil Guard is always alert and always in coordination with the neighboring country in case any type of movement was detected, that the Civil Guard was prepared and could act from the first moment,” he explained.
Ready device
Moh explained that from the Command “we always have the device ready for the different situations and for the different phases depending on the migratory pressure existing at each moment”.
Therefore, “to say that we are on alert for a single day is to deceive, because in the end the work of the Civil Guard is to be alert 24 hours a day and every day and under that premise everything else is always adapted, with the different shifts, the different services, the different points of the city where a greater pressure could be proposed”.
In this sense, like Ceuta, “in Melilla we are on that continuous alert”, he has apostilled and before any indication of more pressure “a special emphasis is placed on those dates in which it is said that there may be a possible entry or a possible movement”.
Finally, the Delegate explained that, in principle, with the devices and agents that we have right now in the city, all the situations that are taking place are being solved but, if necessary, a reinforcement would be requested that would reach the city as it has happened on other occasions.
