The Provincial Directorate of the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) has called for public subsidies, under a direct concession, of the Programme for the Employment Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in the Regular Labour Market, in the territorial area of Melilla for the financial year 2024.
As explained by the Provincial Director of SEPE, Jorge Vera, this program aims to promote the insertion and job stability of people with disabilities in the regular labor market. To this end, the following types of aid are contemplated:
1) Incentive for the employment, on an indefinite basis, of persons with disabilities who are applicants for employment and services in a non-employed situation and registered with the Public Employment Service. General amount of the grant: 5,500€.
2) Subsidy for the indefinite transformation of fixed-term, temporary and training contracts signed with disabled workers. Amount of the grant: 5,500€
3) Subsidy for adaptation to the job. Amount of the grant: Up to €1,800, without exceeding the cost of adaptation.
4) Supported employment subsidy, aimed at financing salary costs, resulting from the implementation of guidance and individualized support actions in the workplace, provided by specialized job trainers. Annual reference amount: 33.250€.
The grants provided for in this resolution will be financed from the corresponding funds provided in the Budget of expenses of the Public Service of State Employment, up to a maximum of twenty-five thousand euros (25,000€). The period from 30 September 2023 to 30 November 2024 will be eligible for funding.
Enterprises, self-employed persons, private non-profit entities and other ordinary labour market entities that enter into contracts may be eligible for these grants. Likewise, Associated Labor Cooperatives and Labor Societies that incorporate workers with disabilities as partners, it being understood that references to indefinite hiring extend to the incorporation of working members.
The Provincial Director has stated that the deadline for submitting applications varies depending on the grant requested. In the case of applications for the grant for indefinite hiring, they will be submitted within one month from the next to the date of registration in the Social Security. Applications for the indefinite transformation grant will have up to one month from the date of the indefinite contract start.
For grants for the adaptation of jobs, the deadline for submitting applications will be one month from the day following the payment of the corresponding adaptation. In the case of supported employment grants, the period shall be one month from the day following the deadline for the voluntary payment of social insurance.
In addition, Vera has indicated that in the event that the date of start of the contract or transformation was between October 1, 2023 and the day of entry into force of the call, both inclusive, the period of one month for the submission of applications will be counted from the day following the publication of the call in the National Grants Base.
