The Government Delegation this morning welcomed the signing of the Protocol extending the Violet Point to the Territorial Directorate of Ingesa, the Territorial Directorate of MUFACE, the Provincial Directorate of the National Social Security Institute (INSS) and the General Treasury of Social Security (TGSS) and the Delegation of Economy and Finance and Territorial Intervention.
The head of the Government Delegation, Sabrina Moh, accompanied by the Head of the Unit for Coordination against Violence Against Women, Laura Segura; and the Secretary General of the Delegation, Sana Abdeslam; has held a meeting with the heads of the entities, Omar Haouari (Ingesa), Pilar Miralles (MUFACE), Augusto Hoyo (INSS and TGSS) and José Ignacio Valero (Intervention) in which the Autonomous Departments have signed an agreement on the subject of violence.
Safe spaces
Moh has stressed the importance of this tool being deployed in different parts of the city and creating “safe space for women” and has stressed that this tool, launched by the Government of Spain through the Government Delegation in Melilla, “will allow the entire General Administration of the State to know the resources available to all citizens and that, in addition, they are also transmitters of all these measures”.
The Delegation started the Violet Points campaign in 2021 and, since then, has been adding more actions and entities to it. Thus, last July, the Provincial Directorate of Education, the Territorial Directorate of Imserso, the Provincial Directorate of SEPE, the Provincial Directorate of the Social Institute of the Navy, the Penitentiary Centre, the Labour Inspectorate in Melilla, the Delegation of the State Tax Administration Agency in Melilla, CETI, and the Local Traffic Headquarters joined this initiative.
Also in July, a first training was carried out in which public employees of the General Administration of the State participated and which will also be carried out during the months of September and October, with new training for public employees.
“One of the commitments that this Government Delegation acquires is to provide through the Unit this training, in order to be able to sensitize the personnel of the General Administration of the State and that the citizens know what resources it has, in addition to establishing all these agencies as a safe point,” he said.
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city has stressed that, from the Government Delegation and through the Unit directed by Laura Segura, “we will continue to work to eradicate the scourge of male violence and, therefore, actions such as these are and will be so important”.
